ABSTRACT
availability of the required fuel resources requires environmentally friendly renewable
energy such as charcoal briquettes.the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of
the best composition and composition of a mixture of red meranti sawdust and bagasse on
the quality of charcoal briquettes.this study used completely randomized design with 3
treatments and 3 replications with the ratio (P1) 100 % : 0 %,(P2) 50 %: 50 %,(P3) 30% :
70 % then continued with the Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DNMRT).the results
showed that the mixed waste of red meranti sawdust and bagasse on the quality of
charcoal briquettes can be used as raw material for charcoal briquettes.average moisture
content and calorific value meet the SNI 1-6235-2000 criteria with an average moisture
content value of each treatment P1 7,936 %,P2 6,026 %,P3 4,720 % and the average
heating value of each treatment resulted in P1 6331,P2 6517,P3 6535.thus ,charcoal
briquettes from sawdust and bagasse waste can be used because they have meet the SNI
at each value produced.
