Respon Pemberian Arang Dan Kompos Terhadap Pertumbuhan Semai Sengon (Paraserianthes Falcataria (L.) Nielsen) Pada Media Tanah Bekas Tambang Timah (Tailing)
ABSTRACT
Some of the environmental damage caused by mining activities has occurred, especially in the soil
layers where the soil conditions have deteriorated, pollution by heavy metals which causes poisoning
to plants, making it difficult for plants to grow on ex-mining land, the need for a post-mining land
restoration strategy by selecting pioneer vegetation types and which are suitable for land conditions that
are not supportive (marginal) for local plant growth such as Paraserianthes falcataria. In the former
mine land media required the addition of charcoal and compost to support plant growth. This research
aims to determine the effect of charcoal and organic fertilizers (compost) on the growth of sengon
seedlings in ex-tin mining soil (tailings) media. The experimental design used in this study was a
factorial completely randomized design (CRD). The result showed that the addition of husk charcoal
and compost have potential effect to increase the growth of Paraserianthes falcataria seedling.
