Pemanfaatan Ekstrak Biji Mahoni (Swietenia Mahagoni) Terhadap Pengendalian Hama Kutu Putih (Paracoccus Marginatus) Pada Pembibitan Akasia (Acacia Crassicarpa)
ABSTRACT
Acacia (Acacia crassicarpa) is a type of plant developed for industrial forest plantations
(HTI) in Indonesia, which plays an important role in supporting the development of the fiber
wood industry. Acacia nursery conditions, especially in the nursery(nursery)PT.Arara Eternal
Sorek District attacked by pests. One of the pests that attack is the mealybug pest (Paracoccus
marginatus). Efforts to control mealybugs currently carried out generally use chemical
methods, namely by using synthetic pesticides. The use of mahogany seed extract is an
alternative that can be used as an environmentally friendly pesticide. This study aims to
determine utilization of mahogany seed extract to control mealybugs in acacia nurseries and
to determine the best concentration on the mortality rate of mealybugs acacia nursery. This
study used a completely randomized design method (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 4
replications with concentrations of vegetable pesticide solutions. P0 = control (without
mahogany seed extract), P1 = concentration of mahogany seed extract 10 g / liter of water, P2
= concentration of mahogany seed extract 20 g / liter of water, P3 = concentration of
mahogany seed extract 30 g / liter of water. The results showed that the vegetable pesticide
from mahogany seed extract had benefits for controlling mealybugs. The mahogany seed
extract concentration of 30 g / l of water is the best concentration in controlling mealybug
pests with the fastest initial time of insect death, 9.75 hours (9 hours 45 minutes), 50% fastest
time of death (LT50) namely 22.50 (22 hours 30 minutes) and a total mortality of 95.00%.
