Prospek Pemekaran Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir

This research is motivated by looking at the wishes and hopes of the
Government and the people of Indragiri Hilir Regency for the expansion of
Indragiri Hilir Regency. Currently, Indragiri Hilir Regency has a wide coverage
with a minimal and limited budget, resulting in slow and uneven development in
Indragiri Hilir Regency.
The purpose of this research is to describe how the desires and hopes of
the expansion are determined by looking at the future prospects if Indragiri Hilir
Regency is expanded and also knowing the factors that hinder the expansion.
The research method used is descriptive qualitative method, where this
method describes the situation in the field. The data used by using in-depth
interviews with key informants are 10 (ten) people who really understand this and
are supported by literature studies, both books and journals. Primary data was
obtained directly through interviews with key informants, namely the Regent, the
Chairperson of the DPRD, the Head of Government, the Tembilahan Sub-District
Head, the Mandah Sub-District Head, the Keritang Sub-District Head, Political
Parties, Community Figures, Religious Figures and Mass Media. Secondary data
were obtained from research documents in accordance with the topic of the title
of this thesis.
The results of this study indicate that there is a desire and hope of the
Government and the people of Indragiri Hilir Regency for the expansion of
Indragiri Hilir Regency. This can be seen from human resources who are said to
be ready, then supported by fertile natural resources and large water areas.
Factors hindering the expansion of Indragiri Hilir Regency are the Moratorium
on Regional Expansion, which until now has not been determined for Indragiri
Hilir Regency to be expanded.
