Sifat Mekanis Bata Ringan Cellular Lightweight Concrete Dengan Tambahan Abu Cangkang Sawit (Pofa)
ABSTRACT
Palm oil waste of 2 million tons / year in Riau province as a producer of palm oil
is a source of problems among industry. One of the uses of this palm oil waste is as
a mixed material for making lightweight bricks. This study aims to analyze the
mechanical properties of lightweight bricks based on maximum compressive
strength, stress-strain deformation (shortening) and modulus of elasticity based on
a mixture of lightweight bricks with POFA (Palm Oil Fuel Ash) substitution of 5%,
10%, 15% and 20%. As for this study using experimental methods. The results
showed that the optimum compressive strength was at the age of 28 days with a
composition of 10% POFA (Palm Oil Fuel Ash) with a maximum compressive
strength of 1.41 MPa. Compressive strength of 10% POFA on the specifications of
light bricks aged 3, 7, 14 and 28 days, namely 0.77 MPa, 1.16 MPa, 1.36 MPa, and
1.42 MPa. Furthermore, the largest stress-strain value is found in the 10% POFA
composition, namely 1,420 MPa and 0.060. The greatest modulus of elasticity is
the composition of 10% POFA with a value of 23,667 MPa. Based on the test results
besides that the addition of the proportion of POFA (Palm Oil Ash) from the cement
content can increase the compressive strength and modulus of elasticity in
lightweight bricks.
