Keanekaragaman Jenis Mamalia Pada Kawasan Hutan Adat Imbo Putui Provinsi Riau
ABSTRACT
Mammals as one of the fauna that have an important role in forest ecology and the
need for the community to know the types of mammals that must be protected and
conserved because there are still many people who do not know the animals that
are protected by the government. The purpose of this study was to determine the
diversity of mammal species in the Imbo Putui Customary Prohibition Forest.
Mammalian data were collected through observations on the line transect sample
unit in the form of encounter findings. Data recording is done through direct and
indirect meetings. Observations of large mammals were carried out in the morning
(06:00-09:00) and in the afternoon (16:00-18:00). The size of each sample unit
used is 1,250 m long and 20 m wide. Data analysis was carried out quantitatively
using the calculation of species diversity and species richness. The diversity of
mammal species in the Imbo Putui Indigenous Forest found 7 types of mammals
consisting of 8 families, 9 orders and 35 individuals. The types of families found
were Cercopithecidae, Ursidae, Suidae, Rodentia, Hipposoderidae, Muridae,
Tragulidae, and Manidae. The index of mammal species diversity in the Imbo
Putui Indigenous Forest is classified as moderate, where the species diversity
index in the dry track is higher than the wet route. This is due to the location of
the Imbo Putui Indigenous Forest which borders oil palm plantations.
