ABSTRACT
Non-timber forest products (NTFP’s) are one of the forest resources (SDH)
that have a comparative advantage and are in direct contact with forest
communities. One of the non-timber forest products known by the community
around the forest is rattan. Rattan is used by the community in various daily
needs, even in some places it has become a supporter of the cultural development
of the local community. The purpose of this study was to analyze the income of
craftsmen, analyze business efficiency and find out the problems in the
management of rattan crafts in Tualang Village. The research method used is a
survey method conducted on the rattan craftsman business in Tualang Village.
The sample in the study was determined by purposive sampling. The data
collected are primary data and secondary data. The results of the research that
have been carried out show that the average net income of rattan handicraft
business in a year is Rp. 79.562,173/year. The Return Cost Ratio (RCR) value of
the rattan craft business is 1.9 which indicates that the rattan craft is economically
efficient and feasible to be continued and developed. The problems faced by rattan
craftsmen are limited capital and the difficulty of obtaining raw materials.
