Representasi Toxic Relationship Dalam Video Klip Lathi Karya Weird Genius Ft Sara Fajira

The presence of video clips gives color to the music industry. Video clips
are known as an audio and visual show with a duration ranging from 1-5 minutes
featuring lyrics and music from musicians. Video clips help musicians to convey
or communicate the musical message they want to their audience. This study aims
to determine the representation oftoxic relationship in the video clip Lathi by
Weird Genius Ft Sara Fajira through Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis, namely
the meaning of denotation, connotation and mythical elements as well as through
the perspective of Stuart Hall's representation.
This study used qualitative research methods. Data collection techniques
used in this research are observation (observation), documentation and literature
study. Subjects in this study were 18scene in video clip entitled "Lathi" by Weird
Genius Ft Sara Fajira Official version Music Video which is 3 minutes 7 seconds
long. The objects in this research are audio and visual plus other data collection
from journals, websites and youtube platforms regarding the signs from Roland
Barthes that representtoxic relationship in Lathi's video clip. Data analysis
techniques in this study are collecting data, reducing data, presenting data,
drawing conclusions and evaluating by using a technique to check the validity of
the data, namely triangulation.
The results of this study indicate that the representation of toxic
relationship in the video clip Lathi by Weird Genius Ft Sara Fajira is described
through the meaning of denotation, connotation and mythical elements in 18
scene which are grouped into 3 categories based on the storyline in the video clip.
First, a woman's mistake in judging and accepting the seduction of a man's words
that made her trapped in atoxic relationships. Second, the form of awareness of
someone who has been a victim of physical and mental violence in toxic
relationship by gathering strength from within. Third, the form of resistance and
rejection of a woman so that she gets a victory because she is free from unhealthy
relationships (toxic relationships).
