Sebaran Populasi Ungko (Hylobates Agilis) Di Taman Hutan Raya Sultan Syarif Hasyim Kecamatan Minas Kabupaten Siak Provinsi Riau

ABSTRACT
The Sultan Syarif Hasyim Forest Park area is one of the lowland
conservation areas in Riau Province. SSH Tahura can be found in at least 40 birds,
four species of reptiles, and 12 species of mammals. One of the types of animals
in Tahura SSH is the gibbon. The gibbons in the Tahura SSH area have never
been calculated for their distribution and population density. This study aims to
determine gibbons (Hylobates agilis) population, distribution, and population
density in the Sultan Syarif Hasyim Forest Park area, Minas District, Siak
Regency. This data collection uses the concentration count method and the strip
transect method. Data analysis was obtained from the coordinates of the discovery
of gibbons and descriptive analysis using the formula for the number of
populations, population density estimates, and spread indexes. Based on the
identification data, there were 11 groups of gibbons with a total of 38 individuals.
The population density of the gibbon in the SSH Tahura area was included in the
high-density class, the gibbons scattered in the SSH Tahura area, namely the
distribution pattern or distribution clumped. Moreover, there are two types of
gibbons in the Tahura SSH area, namely black-haired gibbons and gray-yellowhaired
gibbons.
