Potensi Ekspor Produk Kelapa Indonesia Ke Thailand Tahun 2015
This research is motivated by During 2015, Thailand imported Indonesian
products amounting to 6.53 billion dollars. The products that Thailand is
interested in are: fuel lubricants, raw and semi-finished goods, capital goods,
vehicles and transportation equipment, and consumer goods. The value of
Indonesia's exports to the Thai market in 2015 was 7.7 billion dollars. This study
aims to determine the export potential of Indonesian coconut products to Thailand
in 2015.
The research approach used is a qualitative approach. While the type of
research used by researchers in this study is causality verification research. In
this study, the data collection technique used is to use the technique of connecting
theory with data obtained from library research (Library Research).
The results of this study found that the increase in Indonesian coconut
exports to Thailand was due to the very large demand for Thai coconut, so that
Indonesia allocated more coconut production for export to Thailand and various
other export destination countries, because Indonesia saw the Thai market
opportunity which had the potential to export coconut and other products
derivatives. The needs of the food and beverage industry in Thailand encourage
imports of large value each year to increase. From the data on imports of coconut
products, it can be seen an average increase of 20% per year, especially imports
of whole coconuts with skin. Import value in 2013 amounted to 6 million USD,
increased rapidly in 2014 to 20 million USD and to 27 million USD in 2015.
Indonesia's efforts to increase exports of coconut which is a natural
resource are very important, just as the liberal perspective sees that free trade
plays a very important role in improving the international economy, because the
liberal perspective considers that international economic relations can be made
into a "positive-sum game". That is, everyone can benefit from economic
relations, even if the benefits are not as great. Apart from believing that
international economic relations are mutually beneficial, proponents of this
perspective also believe that there is a fundamental harmony between genuine
national interests and international economic interests. Thus, the increase in
exports creates great opportunities for any export activities carried out to achieve
national profits.
