ABSTRAK
Composite material is a new type of engineered material consisting of
two or more materials where the properties of each material are
different from one another. Composites are composed of 2 main
materials, namely the matrix which is the phase in the composite, has
the largest part or volume fraction in the composite which functions as
an adhesive and protector and reinforcement which is a composite part
that functions as the main load bearer on the composite. Fibers generally
still use manual stirring, namely the process without using an electric
motor, so that the resulting composite still has air bubbles or voids. The
manual short fiber composite mixer can be alleviated by changing the
composite mixing process using the help of an electric motor. With this
short fiber composite mixer,the author hopes to help ease the manufacture
of glass fiber and HDPE.
The electric motor used in the design and manufacture of this
short fiber composite mixer uses an electric motor with a power of V
supply: DC 12V and current: 7 Amp with a rotation of 40 rpm. Giant dc
motor has Torque = 40 Kg/cm3 with body dimensions: length 15 cm x
diameter 6 cm and Dimensions shaft : 2 cm long x 10 mm in diameter and
has a total weight of 1.1 Kg
