BEHAVIOR OF STUDENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF RIAU NERS PROFESSIONAL STUDENTS ON HEPATITIS B VACCINATION
Hepatitis B is a serious health problem worldwide. People who are at high risk of hepatitis B infection are health workers. Among health workers, nursing students are more at risk of infection due to exposure to patient body fluids during clinical education. One of the efforts to prevent hepatitis B infection is by vaccination. Nursing students are a group that must be prioritized in the implementation of hepatitis B vaccination. However, in Indonesia there is no regulation that requires health workers to carry out hepatitis B vaccination especially for nursing students. The implementation of self-vaccination is also determined by the knowledge, attitudes and actions of nursing students. The purpose of the study was to determine the knowledge, attitudes and actions of students of the Nursing Profession Study Program University of Riau (UNRI) towards hepatitis B vaccination. This study was conducted in January-April 2022. The design of this study was descriptive with a cross sectional approach with a sample size of 83 students of the Nursing Profession Study Program UNRI. This study uses primary data through a questionnaire. The results showed that 53% of the students of the Nursing Profession Study Program UNRI had good knowledge, 63.9% had a positive attitude and 51.8% had been vaccinated against hepatitis B.
