ABSTRACT
This study aims to determine the value of soil physical properties on land use at the University of Riau, and determine the effect of land use on the physical properties of soil Inceptisols at the University of Riau. Collecting data using survey and observation methods. Soil sampling technique was carried out by Non Probability Sampling (Purposive Sampling) using a 20 x 20 m plot which was repeated 3 times in a zig zag manner at a depth of 0-30cm at 5 different locations. Data analysis was carried out with quantitative analysis analysis. The results of the research and analysis showed that land use at the University of Riau affected the physical properties of the Inceptisol soil. Appropriate land use can affect the level of soil fertility and soil physical properties, from low soil fertility to better fertility levels and can affect soil physical properties that are effective in supporting plant growth. It is known that the physical properties of Inceptisols at the University of Riau, namely soil texture, soil color, bulk density, particle density, porosity, infiltration, soil permeability, water content, field capacity and c-organic experience significant changes to land use at the University of Riau. Land use with various vegetation affects the physical properties of the Inceptisol soil for the better
