Penerapan Pendekatan Saintifik Berbantuan Baamboozle Untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Kognitif Pada Materi Tekanan Zat Kelas Viii Smp
Science learning has an important role in the development of science and technology, supports the progress of the country, and is part of education for all students. Based on field facts, it is found that science learning still uses conventional methods that are teacher-centered, making students less active and tend to get bored during the learning process, thus hindering understanding of the material and causing low student learning outcomes. For this reason, more interesting methods and interactive learning media are needed. The efforts made by researchers to improve learning outcomes are to apply a scientific approach, which involves students actively in the learning process, can reduce the central role of the teacher and help students understand concepts scientifically. One of the interactive media that can be used is Baamboozle, a web-based educational game that allows teachers to create quizzes according to learning objectives. The use of this media can increase learner engagement and help them understand the material better.
The purpose of this research was to describe and determine the improvement of students' cognitive learning outcomes by applying a scientific approach assisted by bamboozle in class VIII SMP Negeri 20 Pekanbaru on substance pressure material. The benefits of this research can be used as a reference in applying the scientific approach and bamboozle educational games to improve students' cognitive learning outcomes that can benefit students, teachers, schools and other researchers.
This type of research is a quasi experiment with the design used in the form of nonequivalent posttest only control group design. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 20 Pekanbaru in the even semester of the 2023/2024 school year with a population of all VIII classes totaling 322 students. The sample of this study amounted to 81 students consisting of: 41 students of class VIII 7 as the experimental class and 40 students of class VIII 6 as the control class. The data collection instrument used was 10 multiple choice questions adjusted to the level of Bloom's taxonomy. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive analysis

techniques and inferential analysis techniques, then hypothesis testing is carried out.
In this research, it was found that the cognitive learning outcomes of the experimental class were better than the control class. The experimental class obtained an average value of cognitive learning outcomes of 70.49 with a good category and the control class obtained an average value of cognitive learning outcomes of 59.25 with a fairly good category. The normality test and homogeneity test conducted on the experimental class and control class found that both classes had normally distributed data and both classes were homogeneous. Furthermore, hypothesis testing was carried out using the Independent Sample T-test test. Based on the Independent Sample T-test test output, Sig. (2-tailed) is 0.003 where 0.003 is smaller than 0.05, then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted.
Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in the cognitive learning outcomes of students between classes that apply a scientific approach assisted by baamboozle and classes that apply conventional learning on substance pressure material. So it can be concluded that the scientific approach assisted by baamboozle can improve the cognitive learning outcomes of students on the material of substance pressure.
