Anaphylaxis reaction to penicillin and highly incident of macrolide
resistance made importance to find the new save antibiotic. The aim of admixture
was to produce synergis or additive therapeutic value. Traditionally, admixture
of honey and ginger had been used to treat respiratory diseases, such as
faringitis. The aim of this study was to know the effect of ethanol extract of
Zingiber officinale var. rubrum rhizome, Riau honey, and the admixture of both as
antibacterial against Streptococcus pyogenes.
This was an in vitro experimental laboratory study used completely
randomized design with disk diffusion method. Result of the study in each group of
treatments were analysed by using analysis of variance statistic and confirm with
