Peranan Sultan Hamengku Buwono Ix Dalam Menghadapi Agresi Militer Belanda I Dan Ii (1945-1949)

In the early days of Indonesian independence after the reading of the Proclamation Text by Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Jakarta on August 17, 1945. Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX as King of Yogyakarta Sultanate enthusiastically welcomed good news to send a telegram of congratulations to the Soekarno-Hatta Airport two days after Indonesia's independence. And he expressed the attitude and position in the Territory of the Republic of Indonesia Yogyakarta through 5 September 1945 edict which the position of Yogyakarta at the time was a special region and Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX as Head of the Special Region of Yogyakarta is directly responsible to the president. However, the struggle and the role of the lane did not stop there. This independence is assessed by the Dutch Independence results made in Japan, therefore the Dutch tried to take over the territory of the Republic of Indonesia as well make it as a state within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX prepared by the government of Indonesia in Yogyakarta very well so that the wheels of government running as it should when Jakarta crashed and no longer safe to live in due to the arrival of the allied forces with NICA. And when Yogyakarta fell on the Dutch Military Aggression II Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX along with the people and the ranks of civil servants who carry out non-cooperative action against Dutch occupation Yogyakarta only employee portion of health, electricity, drinking water and sanitation that works for the people not suffering are not necessary. Selection of Yogyakarta as the capital of Indonesia at that time seen from the figure's personality lane IX which has a high influence and prestige in the eyes of the people that are always going on coordination and cooperation for mutual support passage of the wheels of government in Yogyakarta lane IX also plays an important role as the initiator of the political responsibility of the General Offensive March 1, 1949.
The purpose of this study is how the role of Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX in the face of Dutch Military Aggression I and II. And to find out how the role ofSultan Hamengku Buwono IX in maintaining the independence of Indonesia. Data were collected by literature techniques.
The result of Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX plays an important role in maintaining the independence of the Republic of Indonesia to become one of the national heroes and role models. His figure is simple yet dignified and intelligent made him as one of the leaders of the role we ought to emulate.
