The research was conducted during on March-June 2016 in Kampar River and Laboratory of Fishing Gear and Material, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science University of Riau. The aim of this research was to determine the effectiveness of shapes and potitions of escape gap. The methods used were survey and experiment. The results of the research showed that the square escape gap and the center position was effective which 0.9% effectiveness. =Keywords : Pengilar, Escape Gap, Kampar
