Analisis Beban Pencemaran Limbah Cair Kilang Sagu (Metroxylon Sp.) Diperairan Selat Asam Desa Tanjung Kulim Kecamatan Merbau Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti, Riau
Sago factory in the Tanjung Kulim Village usually flow the sago liquid waste directly to the Asam Strait and thus pollute the waters. A research aims to understand the sago waste water pollution load in the strait has been conducted in April 2017. There were 3 station, namely Station 1 (fresh liquid waste), Station 2 (in the drainage of sago factory) and Station 3 (Asam Strait area). Result shown that in the wastewater of sago factory, the temperature 28.9 0C; pH 4.27; COD 15,167 mg / L; NO3 1.12 mg / L; PO4 9.81 mg / L; TSS 3,270 mg / L; NH3 2.61 mg / L. The values of COD and TSS were over the standard values of wastewater issued by the Indonesian Government (PerMen LH No.05, 2014) (BPAi>BPMi). Result shown that in the Asam Strait, the temperature 29.60C; pH 7.40; dissolved oxygen 4.6 mg/L; NO3 0.55 mg/L; PO4 2.50 mg/L; Salinity 26.11 ‰; TSS 244 mg/L; NH3 0.20 mg/L. The values of nitrate, phosphate, ammonia, and TSS were over the standard values (KepMen LH No. 51, 2004). The STORET index value of the Asam Strait waters was -38 and it can be categorized as heavily polluted.
