Uji Daya Hambat Bakteri Endofit Karet Terhadap Jamur Akar Putih (Rigidoporus Microporus (Swartz:Fr) Van Ov) Dalam Media Fermentasi Dan Aplikasi Pada Bibit Karet
ABSTRACT
Rigidoporus microporus is a fungus that causes white root disease which can reduce rubber production. The purpose of this study was to test local endophytic bacteria which could supress Rigidoporus microporus growth in fermentation media with an incubation time of 5 days and to test four potential endophytic bacteria in suppressing Rigidoporus microporus in rubber seeds in a greenhouse for two months of application time. The result of fermentation test showed that endophytic bacterial isolates L1M1.D8, L1M2.D20, L2M1.A27 and L2M2.B49 were able to suppress the growth of Rigidoporus microporus significantly different than controls. Tests in the greenhouse, treatment of endophytic bacterial isolates can suppress Rigidoporus microporus growth in stick of rubber wood indicated by the absence of Rigidoporus microporus hyphae in rubber wood stick compared to controls. Endophytic bacteria didn’t significantly influence root dry weight compared to controls. The isolate of endophytic bacteria L1M2.D20 increase the height of rubber seedlings after two month of application. Local rubber endophytic bacterial isolates can be an alternative way for Rigidoporus microporus growth control.
