Hubungan Antara Penerimaan Dan Resiliensi Ibu Yang Memiliki Anak Autis
Autism was the interference which marked by impaired
communication, language, social interaction, as well as an interest in certain things
and repetitive behavior. To be able to face the difficult associated with the disorder
that are owned by their children, parents, especially mothers, must be tough and
able to adapt to become resilien mothers. This research aims to determine the
relationship between acceptance and resilience of mothers who have children with
autism. Methods: This research used a correlation method with a crosssectional
approach. The sample of research was 35 respondent mothers of autistic children
which was selected based on inclusion criteria. The measuring instrument used for
maternal acceptance is the Parental Acceptance-Rejection Questionnaire (PARQ)
and a questionnaire based on the Reivich & Shatte Resilience theory. Result: The
study showed that the majority of mothers aged 40-65 years was 22 people (63.1%),
the last education was 17 people (48.6%), 10 people with Batak ethnicity (17.1%).
Marriage, it’s married amount to 33 people (94.3%), the mother's occupation,
namely the IRT it’s 15 people (42.9%), monthly income>UMP amount to 19 people
(54.3%). Data were analyzed using Chi-Square. Conclusion: The results obtained
(p value = 0.446>α 0.05), it can be concluded that’s no relationship between
acceptance and resilience of mothers who have autistic children. Based on this
research, it is recommended that mothers know what to do it terms of acceptance
and resilience of mothers who have children with autism.
