Hubungan Tingkat Kemandirian Lansia Melakukan Activity Of Daily Living Dengan Kondisi Kesehatan Mental Emosional Pada Lansia Di Desa Banjar Guntung

Holistic changes and various health problems that occur in the
elderly can affect the level of independence and impact on the mental health
conditions of the elderly.Purpose: To determine the relationship between the
level of independence of the elderly doing activity of daily living with mental
emotional health conditions in the elderly in Banjar Guntung Village. Methods:
The research design used correlation descriptive with cross sectional approach.
The research sample was taken by purposive sampling and applying inclusion
criteria. The measuring instruments used were the Self Reporting Questionnaire
(SRQ 20) and the Katz Index. The analysis used is univariate analysis using
frequency distribution and bivariate analysis using chi-square test by looking at
the Pearson chi-square value. Results: The study showed that the majority of
study subjects were 60-74 (75.3%),female gender as much as 67.1%, farmer
occupation as much as 56.2%, SD education as much as 61.6%, marital status,
widows as much as 54.8%, types of hypertension as much as 15.1 living with
family as much as 94.5%. From 58.9% of respondents, there is no indication of
emotional mental health with the category of independence level as much as
87.7%.Chi-square test results obtained p value (0.000)
