Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) is a national university program aimed at developing student competencies, consisting of various types of programs such as internships/work placements, independent studies/projects, campus teaching, student exchanges, research, entrepreneurial activities, humanitarian projects, and village development. MBKM serves as an important platform for students to develop skills highly needed for career preparation after completing their studies at the university. This research aims to analyze the factors influencing the interest of Universitas Riau students in participating in the MBKM program based on gender and field of study. The study is based on the TPB (Theory of Planned Behavior) using SEM PLS MGA (Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares Multi Group Analysis). The variables used are attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, and interest. Data were obtained from primary sources through the distribution of questionnaires to 396 students at Universitas Riau using stratified random sampling. The results of the SEM PLS research indicate that attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control variables significantly influence the interest of Universitas Riau students in participating in the MBKM program. Based on the SEM PLS MGA analysis, it was found that, based on gender, there is a significant difference in influence between male and female groups on the interest of Universitas Riau students in participating in MBKM. Meanwhile, based on the field of study, there is no significant difference between technology science and social science groups regarding Universitas Riau students' interest in participating in the MBKM program.
