Inefficiency in assigning preachers for Islamic preaching activities often occurs due to the placement of preachers at locations that are too far apart, leading to delays and logistical challenges. In Kampar Regency, diverse geographical conditions exacerbate this issue, resulting in suboptimal preacher placements. This study aims to optimize preacher assignments by considering geographical distance and mosque profiles. The dataset used consists of 102 mosques and 148 preachers obtained from the Indonesian Council of Ulama in Kampar Regency. The Agglomerative Hierarchical Clustering (AHC) algorithm was selected for its ability to cluster data based on various characteristics. In addition, the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) algorithm was applied to reduce data dimensions, thereby improving clustering quality. The optimization of the AHC-PCA algorithm produced three optimal clusters with a Silhouette Score of 0.625, an optimal elbow validation value of 390.23, and the lowest Davies-Bouldin Index (DBI) score of
0.469. Visualization through Business Intelligence facilitated the mapping of preacher and mosque clusters, providing a detailed view of spatial distribution. This study successfully enhanced the efficiency of preacher assignments by reducing travel time and aligning preacher placements with geographical proximity and mosque needs, thereby maximizing the effectiveness of Islamic preaching in the Kampar Regency.
