Analisis Kualitas Butir Soal Ujian Akhir Semester Kelas XI Mata Pelajaran Biologi Tahun Ajaran 2023/2024 Pada SMA Negeri Kota Pekanbaru
The success of learning is determined by the teacher's competence in making teaching plans, implementing teaching and learning activities (KBM), implementing evaluations until learning objectives are achieved. The extent to which learning objectives are achieved can be seen from the results of the evaluation. In order to achieve good learning outcomes, teachers need to pay attention to the questions made with the suitability of the material, construction and language. Thus, before the questions are given to students, teachers must know the quality of the questions through item analysis activities. Question analysis aims to identify whether the questions that have been made are good, lacking, and bad. Based on the question analysis, information can be obtained about the quality of a question and improvements can be made.
Based on interviews with several biology teachers of grade XI at SMA Negeri Kota Pekanbaru, it is known that the final semester exam questions that have been tested previously to students have never been analyzed by the teacher, so the quality of the questions is not yet known. Where the purpose of this study is to determine the quality of the final semester exam questions made based on the criteria for making ideal questions through qualitative analysis which includes the rules for writing questions and the distribution of cognitive domain levels and quantitative which includes validity, reliability, discrimination, level of difficulty, and distractor function.
This study uses quantitative descriptive research that aims to determine the quality of the final semester exam questions for class XI SMA Negeri Pekanbaru City. The population in this study was taken using a purposive sampling technique, namely 5 schools that have implemented the independent curriculum and have conducted final semester exams, then the sample taken using a random sampling technique, namely 1 class from a total of 4 classes in each school. Data collection was carried out in 3 stages: 1) Preparation stage, 2) Implementation stage, and 3) Reporting stage. The data analysis technique in this study was by analyzing qualitatively according to the multiple choice analysis format by

looking at the suitability of the questions with the rules for writing questions that include material, construction, and language as well as the distribution of cognitive levels, will also be analyzed quantitatively, including validity, reliability, discriminatory power, level of difficulty, and effectiveness of distractor levels using the help of a computer application, namely Anates 4.10.
The results of the study showed that: 1) The results of the qualitative analysis of the final semester exam questions for the odd semester of biology subjects for class XI of Pekanbaru Public Senior High School in the 2023/2024 academic year, seen from the rules of writing questions and the distribution of cognitive levels, obtained a value from the interval scale of 3.5 so that the qualitative quality of the items is included in the good category. 2) The results of the quantitative analysis of the odd semester assessment questions for biology subjects for class XI of Pekanbaru Public Senior High School in the 2023/2024 academic year obtained were then classified into the categories of accepted, improved and rejected and obtained a total of 15 questions accepted (9%), 150 questions improved (88%), and 5 questions rejected (3%), so that the quantitative quality of the questions is included in the poor category. The failure of questions in quantitative analysis is caused by not meeting one or more of the quality standards covering validity, level of difficulty, distractor function, and discrimination. 3) Efforts that teachers can make include attending training on creating questions, attending MGMP meetings, compiling questions according to the criteria of material aspects, language construction, distribution of cognitive domain levels and it is best to strengthen this by conducting a trial of the test questions that will be tested.
