Variasi Penambahan Gliserol Terhadap Karakteristik Bioplastik Berbahan Pati Sagu Dan Selulosa Serat Daun Nanas
ABSTRACT
Bioplastic is plastic made of renewable raw materials. Bioplastic can be made by utilizing sago starch and cellulose from waste such as pineapple leaf fiber cellulose. Bioplastic also require glycerol to increase elasticity and reduce fragility of bioplastic. This study aims to obtain the right amount of glycerol to the characteristized bioplastic from sago starch and pineapple leaf fiber cellulose. This research was conducted experimentally using Completely Randomized Method (CRD) with four treatments and four replications. The treatments in this study were the addition of glycerol 0.5 g, 1 g, 1.5 g and 2 g. The tests carried out were thickness, tensile strength, elongation, swelling and biodegradation. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance (ANOVA). The result of this research were glycerol has a significant effect on thickness, tensile strength, elongation, swelling and biodegradation of bioplastic. The best glycerol based on the test parameters found in the addition of 1,5 g glycerol with a thickness of 0.26 mm, tensile strength 14.94 MPa, elongation 17.60%, swelling 66.24% and biodegradation 59.79%.
