ABSTRACT
The internet is a reference by farmers to access news and information in the process of agricultural cultivation, the information obtained by farmers is useful for farmers as one of the information that can solve cultivation problems that occur in the field. The smooth flow of information that farmers get, farmers will be easier and more efficient in making decisions during the cultivation process, such as land processing to information about post-harvest, it indicates that digital information sources can play a role in changing behavior in dealing with problems such as pests and diseases that occur in the field, one of the users of digital information is independent oil palm farmers in Medan City Village, which is supported by the existence of farmers who use the internet in finding agricultural information, in the process of cultivating good agriculture practice by using smartphones as a tool to access information and there are also farmers who do not. Data analysis used descriptive analysis based on Likert scale for purposes one, two and three, the fourth objective used independent difference test sample t test. farmers who use smartphones in implementing GAP are better and more precise than farmers who do not use smartphones.
