Koordinasi Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah Dalam Hal Upaya Penanggulangan Bencana Alam Di Kota Dumai Tahun 2021

ABSTRACT Dumai City is one of twelve districts/cities in Riau Province. Where Dumai City is located at 01º 23'00" - 01º 24'23" North Latitude 101º23'37" - 101º28'13" East Longitude. With an area of 1,727.38 Ha and a water area of 71,393 Ha. Dumai City's location on the coast makes Dumai City an area prone to disasters. Law No. 24 of 2007 concerning Disaster Management, a disaster is an event or series of events that threatens and disrupts people's lives and livelihoods caused by either natural or non-natural factors or humans, resulting in human casualties, environmental damage, property loss and psychological impacts. Natural disasters are disasters caused by nature, including earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, floods, droughts, hurricanes and landslides. This research uses the theory of coordination elements. Coordination is an element of the orderly structure of group efforts to create a commonality of action in pursuit of common goals. The elements of coordination as stated by James D. Money consist of Agency Effort, Unity of Action, Common Purpose. The results of this research show that the Dumai City Regional Disaster Management Agency has carried out coordination with good to all agencies related to the natural flood disaster that occurred in 2021. However, there are several obstacles, namely the difference in institutional status which is an obstacle. Furthermore, the lack of facilities and infrastructure is also an obstacle for the Dumai City Regional Disaster Management Agency. Keywords: Coordination, Natural Disasters
