Prarancangan Pabrik Butyraldehyde Dari Synthetic Gas Proses Oxo Dengan Desain Alat Utama Reaktor Hidroformilasi (R-101)
Butyraldehyde is a compound that has an aldehyde group which is widely used in the chemical industry. Butyraldehyde is produced through the hydroformylation reaction of propylene or the reaction between propylene gas and synthesis gas (carbon monoxide and hydrogen). This factory is planned to operate for 330 days per year and work continuously 24 hours/day with a capacity of 50,000 tons/year which will be established in the Dumai industrial area, Riau. The company form chosen is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a line and staff organizational system. The employee work system is based on the division of working hours consisting of shift and non-shift employees. The main equipment design in this factory is the CSTR Reactor (R-101) which functions to react Propylene with synthesis gas to become butyraldehyde. This CSTR reactor is operated at a pressure of 18 bar and a temperature of 90⁰C. Economic analysis in the design of this factory shows that this factory is feasible to build. With a Break Event Point (BEP) value of 3.6 years, Pay Back Period (PBP) of 3.56 years, Rate of Investment (ROI) of 27.17%, and Interest Rate of Return (IRR) of 28.26 %.
Keywords: Propylene, Butyraldehyde, Hydroformylation, CSTR Reactor.
