Prarancangan Pabrik Asam Akrilat Dari Propilen Proses Oksidasi Propilen Dengan Desain Alat Utama Reaktor Fixed Bed Multitube Stage 1 (R-101)
ABSTRACT
Acrylic acid is an important chemical in the industrial world because acrylic acid is an intermediate chemical that is widely used in industrial production processes and consumer products. Acrylic acid is mainly used as a raw material in the manufacture of acrylic esters, as a monomer for polyacrylic acid and its salts, as a comonomer for use as a flocculent and ion exchange resin polymer. The main raw materials used in the production of acrylic acid are propylene and air. The selected process used for the production of acrylic acid from propylene is propylene oxidation. The factory being established will operate for 330 days per year and work continuously 24 hours/day with a capacity of 60,000 tons/year which will be established in Cilegon, Banten Province, Indonesia. The company form applied is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a line and staff organization system. The employee work system is based on the division of working hours consisting of shift and non-shift employees. The main equipment design in this factory is a Fixed Bed Multitube Stage 1 Reactor (R-101) which functions to react propylene and air to become acrolein. This Fixed Bed Multitube Stage 1 (R-101) reactor is operated at a pressure of 3 atm with a temperature of 573.15 K and a reaction conversion of 97.32%. Economic analysis of the pre-design of the acrylic acid factory shows that this factory is feasible to establish with a Net Present Value (NPV) of IDR 793,038,101,421.27 which is greater than the Total Capital Investment (TCI) of IDR 180,342,198,489.77. The Break Even Point (BEP) value is 53.973%, the Payback Period (PBP) is 3.113 years, the Return of Investment (ROI) is 32.713%, and the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) is 22.747%.
