Pengembangan Video Animasi Powtoon Sistem Ekskresi Berbasis Problem Based Learning (Pbl) Untuk Pembelajaran Biologi Sma
The development of the era in the use of current technology requires educators to continue to develop skills and knowledge regarding the development of science and technology. Efforts made by educational units are to continue to improve the existing curriculum. Through the Regulation of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology Number 12 of 2024, it states that the independent curriculum is officially established as a learning framework and curriculum structure for all educational units in Indonesia or also known as the national curriculum. The harmony of the implementation of the national curriculum in learning cannot be separated from various elements such as teachers, students, facilities and infrastructure, teaching materials, media, and learning models used.
Basically, the learning process that does not use innovative technology can have an impact on students such as a lack of motivation and interest in learning. The material that is considered quite difficult is the excretory system. One of the efforts made to overcome this is by developing audio-visual media such as powtoon animated videos. This powtoon animated video learning media functions to help provide explanations of material that is difficult to understand by using the help of interesting animations and sounds and can provide stimulus for teaching and learning activities. In addition to media, learning models also play an important role in improving student learning outcomes, one of which is the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The use of animated videos that are integrated with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model is expected to make it easier for students to capture material information messages, attract interest, motivation and attention of students during the teaching and learning process.
This research was conducted on the campus of the Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Riau and at SMA Negeri 8 Pekanbaru. This research was conducted from August 2023 to December 2024. The method used in this study was Research and Development (RnD) using the ADDIE model. The ADDIE model has 5 stages of development, but in this study the researcher only developed it up to the development stage. This

animated video was designed using Powtoon which will then be validated by 4 validators through a validation sheet with aspects of material, pedagogy, design, language and audio. Based on the validation results, it can be concluded that the animated video of the excretion system powtoon based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) for high school biology learning is declared very valid in terms of material, pedagogy, design, language and audio with revisions to each aspect.
Based on the results of data analysis, the average validation result of the excretion system powtoon animation video obtained a value of 3.82 with a very valid category. The results of the limited trial phase I obtained an average result of 3.91 with a very good category. The results of the limited trial phase II obtained an average value of 3.93 with a very good category. The results of the quality of the powtoon animation video are seen from the validity and practicality of the validation and limited trials which obtained a very good category
Based on the average results, it can be concluded that the animated powtoon video based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) for high school biology learning that has been developed has very good quality and can be implemented on a wide scale. The results of this study are recommended for teachers and students as a learning medium in the learning process in schools and for further researchers it is recommended to continue to the next stage, namely implementation and evaluation.
