Pengaruh Penerapan Experiental Learning Terhadap Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis Siswa Pada Materi Gerak Dan Gaya
Natural Science (IPA) is a science that develops from observing natural phenomena by finding out about natural phenomena that occur in everyday life. There are many facts in the field, science learning is one of the subjects that is less popular with students because in science learning students often feel bored because the learning seems monotonous and the learning process does not give students the opportunity to develop critical thinking skills. The main factor that causes students' low critical thinking skills is that students are still not used to answering questions in the form of critical thinking. One alternative inquiry learning that has the potential to improve students' critical thinking skills is using the Experiential Learning model. The Experiential Learning Model is a process of creating knowledge through a combination of gaining experience and transforming experience. Experiential Learning invites students to look critically at events encountered in everyday life and carry out simple research to find out what actually happened and then draw conclusions.
This study aims to describe the level of critical thinking skills of students who apply the Experiential Learning model to the material of motion and force and to determine the differences in the level of critical thinking skills of students between classes that apply the Experiential Learning model to the material of motion and force and classes that apply conventional learning in class VII of SMPN 46 Pekanbaru.
The type of research used is a quasi-experimental using the Posttest Only Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study included all students of class VII of SMPN 46 Pekanbaru which were divided into 5 classes, then 2 classes were randomly selected as samples. The samples taken in this study were class VII B as the experimental class which applied the Experiential learning model and class VII E as the control class which applied conventional learning. This research was conducted at SMPN 46 Pekanbaru from November to December 2024. The data

collection method used was a posttest of the results of critical thinking skills in the form of descriptive questions as many as 6 questions that were in accordance with the critical thinking indicators.
The results of the data obtained were processed using descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. Based on the results of the descriptive analysis obtained, the cognitive learning outcomes of the experimental class that applied the Experiential Learning model were in the high category with an average of 80.82 compared to the control class that applied conventional learning which was in the fairly high category with an average of 72.49.
The results of the inferential analysis obtained with the help of the SPSS version 27 application where the results obtained that both classes were distributed abnormally but homogeneously. Hypothesis testing conducted with the help of the SPSS version 27 application obtained that there was a significant difference in the level of students' critical thinking skills between classes that implemented the Experiential Learning model and classes that implemented conventional learning. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the Experiential Learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills in the material of motion and force in class VII of SMPN 46 Pekanabru. The researcher realizes that the abilities they have are very limited, so it is recommended to the next researcher to conduct research in different fields of science using the Experiential learning model by adding learning media that are in accordance with the Experiential Learning model
