Analisis Perubahan Luasan Hutan Mangrove Menggunakan Citra Satelit Multitemporal Di Kota Dumai
ABSTRACT
Dumai City experienced a decrease in mangrove forest area during 2005-
2015. The factors driving the degradation of the mangrove forest area in this city
are land conversion for industry, ports, roads, plantations, and residential areas. The
aim of this research was to analyse spatial and temporal dynamics using NDVI,
determine the composition of mangrove forest and observe biophysical factors
changes in mangrove forest. This research method uses NDVI analysis and
observation of mangrove forest composition using probability sampling and
measurement of biophysical data. The results obtained by the Dumai City forest
from 2014, 2017, 2020 and 2023 are dominated by high density types.
Classification in sparse density has the highest area in 2014 and the lowest density
in 2017. The medium density type has the highest area in 2017 and the lowest value
in this density type in 2014. Mangrove forests in the city of Dumai have 14
mangrove species from seven families with the most species are Rhizophora
apiculata and Xylocarpus granatum. Biophysical factors are not the cause of the
decreased area of mangrove forests in Dumai City. pH found in the range of 6-8
with water salinity between 14‰ - 20‰. The type of substrate found is also
favourable for mangrove growth, namely mud and sandy mud.
