Principle based of bioethics is one of medical ethics teaching’s material with
cognitive approach in medical faculty and a relevant method to develop student’s
reasoning analysis of medical ethics. Since 1970s, moral judgments test-MJT have
been used an instrument to measure the ability of moral judgment’s person and
showed that emotional aspects and cognitive aspect was influential by each others.
The purpose of this study was designed to investigate the association between
Cognitive of Principles Based of Bioethics With Ability Level of Moral Judgments
Among Medical Student at Faculty of Medicine University of Riau.
This cross sectional study research was conducted into two groups of medical student
at Faculty of Medicine University of Riau that had or hadn’t got yet the knowledge
of principle based ethics, 40 respondents for each group, respectively. Data taken by
using KDB Test and MJT. SPSS® for Windows version 14 (SPSS Inc, Chicago,
Illinois) was used for inputting, processing, and analyzing the data. We analyzed the
associations using independent Mann Whitney U test.
This study showed that cognitive of principles based of bioethics were significantly
associated with ability level of Moral Judgments (p=0.001). There were significant
