Degradasi Fotokatalitik Metilen Biru Menggunakan Katalis Tio2 Dan H2o2
The blue methylene is an organic compound that can pollute the environment. It is carcinogenic and difficult to be degradation by microorganisms. Consumption of blue methylene contaminated water will cause serious health problem as cancer. Many a great deal of effort have been done to reduce the number of blue methylene. One of them is photocatalytic degradation using TiO2 and H2O2. In this research, photocatalytic degradation was conducted by adding TiO2 and H2O2, and varying degradation exposure time irradiation of UV (30 watt). The results showed that degradation rate was depend oneach experiment parameters. The highest degradation blue methylene (98%) was found for combination of TiO2 and H2O2. However, the degradation of blue methylene with UV irradiation (without catalyst) was decrease significantly (31,6%). It indicated that the addition of TiO2 and H2O2 increased the percentage degradation of blue methylene.
