Induksi Tunas Dari Eksplan Mahkota Buah Tanaman Nanas (Ananas Comosus (L.) Merril) Asal Kampar Secara In Vitro Dengan Penambahan 6-Benzylaminopurine (BAP)

Pineapple (Ananas comosus (L.) Merrill) is a kind of fruit demanded by most people. One of pineapple production areas in Riau province is Rimbo Panjang Village, Tambang District, Kampar. So far, the conventional pineapple seedlings take a long time. One effort to shorthen the seedling periode is using an in vitro technique. One of factors that affects in vitro propagation is the use of plant growth regulators. Research on the bud induction from explants of pineapple crown from Kampar had been done. The purpose of the study was to obtain an optimal concentration of BAP for inducing bud formation. This study used a complete randomized design (CRD) with six treatments, i.e. control, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5 mg / l BAP with five replications. The observations were done until 20 days after planting (DAP). The results showed that no explants could provide a response in bud formation. The responses obtained only the explant discoloration from yellowish white to light brown in 10 DAP and became dark brown in 20 DAP.
