Pengaruh Variasi Kadar Natrium Klorida Terhadap Kinerja Unit Pembangkit Listrik Portabel Katoda-Anoda
Indonesian Government regulation No.5 in 2006, consumption of fossil fuel will be reduced from 52% (2015) to 20% (2025). The Government expects alternative energy can replace the fossil fuel. Galvanic cell is one of the alternative energy sources that can be developed to reduce dependence on fuel. Gavani cell can convert a chemical reaction into an electrical energy. In this research, power generation unit consisting of Mg AZ91 plate as a anode and MAB5A cell metal as the cathode with NaCl as the electrolyte. Solution this research aims to determine the effect of consentration variations NaCl (6%, 7%, 8%, 9% and 10%) of the 10 pieces of magnesium plate inside the unit. Unit performance is measured using the unit load (LED bulbs 10 watts, 12 volts) and without LED bulbs. The results is obtained that LED bulbs is a live long time approximately 31 hours under condition NaCl content of 10% with a voltage of 11.25 volts, while without LED bulps produce a voltage of 15.47 volts. The greater the electrolyte concentration is used at a result the voltage is increasing.
