Ketepatan Penyesuaian Dosis Obat Berdasarkan Fungsi Ginjal Pada Pasien Geriatri Yang Dirawat Di Bangsal Penyakit Dalam Rsud Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau Tahun 2016
Geriatric patients have specific characteristics such as multipatology, decreased of organ function, unusual signs and symptoms, and decreased functional status, resulting in polypharmacy events in geriatric patients. In geriatric, there is a gradual shift in pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. Therefore, geriatric patients who have decreased renal function, have to be adjusted drug dosage. The purpose of this study is to determine the appropriateness of drug dosage adjustment based on renal function in hospitalized geriatric patients at Internal Medicine Division of Arifin Achmad General Hospital of Riau Province 2016. This research was a retrospective descriptive study using secondary data in the form of medical records. Samples used were 63 samples with total sampling method. The profile of hospitalized geriatric patients at Internal Medicine Division has been shown that more men than women. The largest age group are 60-74 years old (84.1%). Of the 359 drugs used in geriatric patients, the highest drug group used was 96 gastrointestinal drugs (26.7%). Appropriateness of drug dosage adjustment using the “A Practical Manual of Renal Medicine”, “Geriatric Dosage Handbook guidelines”, “Buku Farmakologi dan Terapi FKUI”, and/or “Medscape” were 345 cases (96.1%). According to the result, almost of the drug dosage is appropriate.
