Gambaran Hasil Pemeriksaan Sitologi Biopsi Aspirasi Jarum Halus Pada Massa Regio Leher Di Instalasi Patologi Anatomi RSUD Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau Periode 1 Januari – 31 Desember 2017
Mass in the neck can come from thyroid gland, lymph node, salivary gland and soft tissue. Fine needle aspiration biopsy is one way to diagnose a neck mass. The aim of this study was to described the cytology feature of fine needle aspiration biopsy in the neck region mass in the Pathological Anatomy Laboratory of Arifin Achmad Hospital, Riau Province. This study took archived data in the Pathological Anatomy Laboratory for the period of 1 January – 31 December 2017. In this study 464 cases consisted of 36.9% men and 63.1% women. The highest number of cases was in the age group 46 – 60 years (27.6%). Lymph nodes was the origin of the most organs 291 cases (62.7%). Benign was the most common in the thyroid gland (22,2). Tuberculous lymphadenitis was the most common in the lymph nodes (26,9%). Adenomas was the most common in the salivary glands (4,7%). Fibrosarkoma and haemangioma were found in soft tissue (0.2%).
