Implementasi Tindakan Do Not Resuscitate Di Kalangan Dokter Umum Di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Arifin Achmad Provinsi Riau Tahun 2018
Background : Do not resuscitate (DNR) is an instruction or order not to perform any cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to a patient suffering with cardiac or respiratory arrest. CPR is an effort intended to restore spontaneous blood circulation and breathing. On the other hand, it also could cause undesirable complications. The misunderstanding of DNR by doctors its frequently happen and still not based on its rule. Aim : to evaluate general practitioners act on DNR implementation. Method : the design was a qualitative study involving three people chosen by snowball sampling method. This study was held on November 2018. The data was collected by conducting comprehensive interview, observation, and field notes. The interviews were recorded and then transcribed. Results : general practitioners had sufficient knowledge on DNR, respected the patient’s decision, and the hospital regulation was not exist. Conclusion : It could be concluded that general practitioners had the comprehension on DNR but still less appropriate and were not supported by legal regulation while the forms were less standardized yet.Keywords: Do not resuscitate (DNR), knowledge, behaviour, DNR regulation
