Analisis Persaingan Usaha Home Industry Es Jagung Di Kecamatan Tampan Kota Pekanbaru

This study aims to determine the business competition, profits and payback period of the home business of corn ice in the Tampan District, Pekanbaru City. The data used are primary data from interviews with homeowners of corn ice industry. The method used is descriptive method with Porter's Five Forces Model analysis tool, profit theory and payback period calculation theory.
From the results of the study analyzed with the Porter's Five Forces Model shows that the competition between businesses in the home industry is weak, the bargaining power of suppliers is weak, the bargaining power of buyers is strong according to theory, but the buyers are unable to control prices and purchases, the threat of new entrants is strong because of its small expectations for entry into the industry, and the threat of substitute products are strong according to theory, but there is no effect on sales and profitability of the corn ice business.
The results of the calculation of the profits of each home industry of corn ice is above 50% obtained by 4 corn ice entrepreneurs, a profit of 20% - 34% is obtained by 4 entrepreneurs, and then a 17.9% profit can be obtained by one corn ice entrepreneur. And the results of the calculation of the payback period or the time of return on investment capital of all corn home industry entrepreneurs of no more than 2.5 months.
