ABSTRACT
At this time, computer systems and networks are an important part of human life.
This can be seen by the number of computer users, such as in offices or even on
campus and at school. This need has reached a fairly large amount. The large
number of computer users on the network to access data which continues to increase
has an impact on the selection of servers and large data storage media is absolutely
necessary. Currently, storage media that are often used to store data still use
physical media such as hard disks, flash disks that are prone to viruses and are easily
lost. Another problem also arises when physical storage is quite expensive. Unlike
cloud storage, which can be accessed anywhere when needed. NAS (Network
Attached Storage) is a solution to the problem of expensive storage media, because
NAS does not require high hardware resources to share files. NAS4FREE is an
operating system that can be used to build a central data or data backup.
NAS4FREE can also be used on various OS platforms, such as Windows, Apple
and Unix. Meanwhile, IAAS service was chosen as a cloud storage service because
in this service IT infrastructure such as CPU, RAM, storage and other
configurations can be used to build a virtual computer, and there is no need to use
a physical computer so that it can save costs.
