Pengaruh Efikasi Diri Dan Penguasaan Konsep Kimia Terhadap Stres Kerja Guru Kimia Pada Masa Pandemi Covid-19 Dengan Kemampuan ICT Sebagai Variabel Intervening Di Provinsi Riau
The process of assimilation and adaptation to controlling the spread of COVID-19 has an impact on the phenomenon of high work stress for chemistry teachers in Riau Province in dealing with the online learning process. Research conducted on more than 10,000 teachers in Spain states that 92.8% of teachers suffer from emotional exhaustion, experiencing stress, sadness, or experiencing anxiety due to distance learning education. physically and mentally accepted from changes in the scope that are felt to be disturbing and as a result feel threatened. Factors that affect teacher work stress include self-efficacy, mastery of the concepts taught or content knowledge, good working conditions, social support, opportunities and promotions, value development, ICT skills and job stress. Another factor that affects the work stress of teachers in this study is the mastery of chemical concepts. This study aims to analyze the effect of self-efficacy and mastery of chemical concepts on the work stress of chemistry teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic with ICT skills as an intervening variable in Riau Province.
This research method is quantitative with correlational techniques on direct and indirect effects. The population in this study were all high school/MA Chemistry teachers in Riau Province, especially in four districts/cities namely Pekanbaru, Siak, Indragiri Hilir, and Indragiri Hulu with a total population of 224 chemistry teachers, while the sample in this study was taken using proportionate random sampling technique. so that obtained 144 chemistry teachers. Data was collected using an online questionnaire using a scale of self-efficacy, mastery of chemical concepts, ICT skills, and work stress of chemistry teachers. The questionnaire has been declared valid and reliable in a trial of 23 samples of chemistry teachers. The data analysis technique was carried out by path analysis using WarpPLS.
The results showed that self-efficacy, and mastery of concepts had a significant negative effect on chemistry teacher work stress during the COVID-19 pandemic. ICT ability cannot be an intervening variable in the effect of self-efficacy on chemistry teacher work stress, however, ICT ability has succeeded in being a partial intervening in the effect of mastery of chemical concepts on teacher work stress. The higher the ICT ability, the more teachers can explore mastery of concepts, thereby reducing academic stress. This study recommends that chemistry teachers improve the indicators of confidence in teaching (self-efficacy), proficiency (mastery of chemical concepts), basic hardware operations (ICT abilities) in order to reduce teacher stress levels. In addition, this study also provides suggestions for teachers to have coping strategies in dealing with stress,
