ABSTRACT
According to the Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. P.83/2016 concerning Social Forestry, the government provides access for communities to manage land in forest areas as an effort to empower communities in and around forests. The form of land use that is directed at improving land cover in the Bukit Suligi Protection Forest by involving the surrounding community is agroforestry. The purpose of this study was to determine the community perception of agroforestry program in the the Bukit Suligi Protection Forest. Data collection was carried out from October to November 2021 to be precise in Dayo Village and Tandun Village in Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau Province. Data collection was carried out using several techniques, namely observation, interviews and literature study. Data was analyzed using mixed quantitative and qualitative methods. The result showed that the level of community perceptions of agroforestry program in the the Bukit Suligi Protection Forest was in the medium category or quite good, with an average score of 2.7 (on a scale of 1-5). The perception of Forest Farmer Group on the complexity aspect with the indicator of understanding on agroforestry has a score of 3,8 or in the high category (easy to understand) and the perception of Forest Farmer Group on the aspect of observability with the indicator of fast-producing agroforestry results has a score of 2,3 or in the low category.
