Karakteristik Briket Arang Kulit Umbi Singkong Dan Arang Cangkang Buah Nipah Dengan Perekat Tapioka
ABSTRACT
Cassava tuber skin and nipah fruit shell are biomass waste that can be used as an alternative energy source because they contain lignin and cellulose. The purpose of making nipa palm shell charcoal and cassava root husk briquettes is to get the best ratio of nipa shell charcoal briquettes and cassava tuber skin charcoal. The study was carried out experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of five treatments and four replications. The treatment in this study was the ratio of cassava root charcoal and nipah fruit shells 10:90, 20:80, 30:70, 40:60 and 50:50. The data obtained were then analyzed statistically using an analysis of variance (ANOVA) test and continued with the Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the 5% level. Parameters tested were moisture content, ash content, volatile matter content, bonded carbon content, and heating value. The treatment chosen in this study was K1 briquettes with a ratio of cassava root shell charcoal and nipah palm shell charcoal (10:90). The average value of water content is 2.13%, ash content is 5.21%, volatile matter content is 37.24%, bound carbon content is 55.42% and heating value is 5.570.29 cal/g.
