MSME palm sugar HPR is a home production that sells arena sugar or brown sugar in Rokan Hulu district. The HPR palm sugar MSME house was first established in 2000 after the reform era. Marketing or introducing products can be done through marketing communications. However, in reality HPR palm sugar SMEs do not just appear in the minds of consumers. Therefore, HPR MSME houses need to first know the marketing communication strategy that needs to be done so that the marketing is effective and the expected targets can be achieved optimally. The purpose of this study is to find out how the marketing communication strategy of HPR palm sugar MSME houses promotes palm sugar and to find out how HPR palm sugar MSME House Marketing Communication Strategies in marketing palm sugar relates to Word Of Mouth strategy, social media marketing strategy, strategy Events, and personal selling strategies in marketing palm sugar products.
This type of research is qualitative with descriptive presentation analysis. The research subjects are the Chairperson, Employees and Consumers with purposive techniques. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique of this research uses the Miles and Huberman model. Furthermore, for Technical Data Validity Check using extended participation and triangulation.
From the results of research on the marketing communication strategy used by HPR palm sugar MSMEs, it can be found that the strategy carried out in marketing their products is to carry out word of mouth marketing strategies from consumers to other consumers, using social media as a promotional medium for HPR palm sugar sales. where the social media used is Facebook, conducting event marketing, opening stands at certain events by providing education about how to process palm sugar and also the properties and benefits of making it contained. Personal selling is carried out in the form of presentations or explaining to consumers regarding the products being marketed so that marketing communications can be conveyed effectively to consumers.
