Efektifitas Simplisia Sambiloto (Andrographis Paniculata Nees) Sebagai Pengendalian Edwardsiella Tarda Pada Ikan Patin (Pangasius Hypophthalmus)

An effort to prevent Edwardseillosis disease in stripped catfish,
Pangasius hypophthalmus performed using antibiotic was less safety and
expensive ways. An herbal medicine may be able to be a safety and cheap way
to prevent of the Edwardseillosis disease. The aim of the study was to know an
efficacy of sambiloto simplicia, Andrographis paniculata to control of
Edwardsiella tarda on stripped catfish. The concentration of sambiloto simplicia
was P1 (1 g/l), P2 (2 g/l), P3 (4 g/l), Kn (as negative control) and Kp (as positive
control). Treatment conducted by immersion for 30 minutes of exposure. After 30
days immersion method, fish were injected intramuscularly with E. tarda.
Survival rate, clinical symptom, total leucocyte, hematocrit and water quality
were observed daily for 14 days post infection. The results of study indicated that
administration of sambiloto simplicia effectively prevented E. tarda infection.
Concentration of 4 g/l sambiloto simplicia gave higher efficacy against E. tarda
infection.
