This study aims to determine the physical construction of the project supervision by the regional government and the scope of the Public Works Department, and investigate the factors that affect physical development supervision in 2011. As for the background of this research work is still a few projects that are not completed and are not suitable targets are achieved.
This includes research into the types of qualitative research using in-depth interview data collection technique to several informants research. Which consists of the part of administrators, government agencies, the Department of Public Works, the project supervisor Consultant, Member of the Board, and several community leaders.
Results of this study indicate that there are some things that impede surveillance affecting project implementation, monitoring observations corresponding author can be categorized still not good, because they lack the maximum performance in the Public Works Department officials supervising physical development and persistence of the factors inhibiting the supervision physical development, one of them in terms of infrastructure facilities. In the regulatory process that sets standards, assessment act, and take corrective action, based on the observation that the author can still unwell, according to the authors, the problem now is the problem in doing surveillance or monitoring of physical development in the Meranti Islands Regency only done once a month. So the impact of the construction project and quality. Physical factors inhibiting local government oversight in physical development in Meranti Islands Regency, which is a constraint in terms of the first Human Resources is the minimal number of supervisors, and in terms of quality inspectors who are categorized still minimal and in terms of honorarium, salary is still a lack of oversight and lack of facilities or vehicles completeness Department in overseeing the physical development in Meranti Islands Regency.
