Induksi Tunas Dari Eksplan Bagian Biji Tanaman Nyamplung (Calophyllum inophyllum L.) Dengan Penambahan Benzylaminopurine (BAP) Secara In Vitro
Nyamplung(Calophyllum inophyllum) is a multifunctional plant that has economical and ecological functions. This study aimed to investigated the influence of explants on shoot induction at different concentrations of growth regulators BAP (Benzylaminopurine) and determined the optimum concentration of BAP in shoot formation from explants spur section of nyamplung seeds. This study used a randomized block design (RBD) that arranged in two factorial designs. The first factor was the concentration of BAP (0, 0.5, 1, 2, 4 and 8 mg/l), while the second factor was the explant type (whole seed, longitudinally and tranversally cut seed). Data was analyzed using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) and if significant followed by DMRT (Duncan's Multiple Range Test) with a level of 5%. The results showed that three threatments gave 100% explant forming, i.e the whole seeds with 8 mg/l BAP, longitudinally cut seed with of 2 mg/l BAP and transversally cut seed with 1 mg/l BAP. The best explant for seed induction was whole seed explants with 8 mg/l BAP.
Key words: BAP (Benzylaminopurine), explants, in vitro, nyamplung (Calophyllum inophyllum).
