ANALISIS PRODUKTIVITAS DAN KONTRIBUSI INDUSTRI RUMAH TANGGA (Studi Kasus Industri Kerupuk, Keripik, Peyek dan Sejenisnya di Kecamatan Bunga Raya Kabupaten Siak)

Rural economic development means that their efforts to develop the potential of real rural incomes by using investments. Investments will give birth to a variety of changes and increase productive resources, which in turn increases the real income of the community. Life and economic activity in rural areas is characterized by the significant of small-scale businesses and some medium-sized businesses.
This study aims to look at the productivity and the contribution of home industry in District Bunga Raya of Siak Regency and how the opportunities, challenges, weaknesses and strengths that it faces. The population in this study were all Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the District Bunga Raya Siak recorded on the Department of Industry and Trade Siak Regency in the year 2012, amounting to as much as 162. While the sample in this study is an industry crackers, chips, dent and the like which totaled as much as 17 business units. In analyzing the data, the writer uses descriptive analysis that compares the data with the various theories that support and are explained.
The results showed that the home industry crackers, chips, dent and the like in the District Bunga Raya of Siak Regency have high productivity in supporting the regional economy so it is worth to be developed. Besides, it is also home industry crackers, chips, dent and sejeninya have a higher contribution to earnings of workers and are very helpful in meeting the needs of domestic workers. Home industry crackers, chips, dent and the like in the District Bunga Raya of Siak Regency results SWOT has great strength, but also the threat of big business, so the strategy is diversification strategy undertaken. Nevertheless, home industry crackers, chips, dent and the like still have some lack of seed that are locational and competitive. The availability of resources, technology and business climate conducive be an absolute requirement in addition to the role of infrastructure. Besides, it is also the need for innovation on products, create new variations, improve packaging, or the other. In addition it could also conduct market research on a regular basis in order to know exactly what kind of products consumers want.
