Profil Vertikal Nitrat Di Danau Pinang Dalam Desa Buluh Cina Kecamatan Siak Kabupaten Kampar Provinsi Riau Hulu

nitrate concentration in the water is related to water depth. To understand the vertical profile of nitrate in the Pinang Dalam Oxbow Lake, a research has been done from February to March 2014. Water samples were taken in three stations, namely station 1 (inlet) , station 2 (in the middle of the lake) and station 3 (outlet). Water samples were taken based on depth, in the surface, 2.5 secchi depth and in the bottom. Sampling was done three times, once a week. Results shown that Nitrate concentration increase with the depth, there were 0.01-0.03 mg/L in the surface; 0.03-0.09 mg/L in the 2.5 secchi depth and 0.05-0.16 mg/L in the bottom. Other water quality parameter values are as follow pH: 5, DO: 2.40-6.83 mg/L, CO2: 5.33-9.32 mg/L, depth: 145-302 cm, transparency: 27.3-28.5 cm, temperature: 28.3-28.7 oC and Phosphate: 0.037-0.710 mg/L. Based on nitrate concentration, the Pinang Dalam Oxbow Lake can be categorized as oligotrophic and other water quality parameter values indicate that the water is sufficient to support the life of aquatic organisms.
